What kind of relationship is this? Do opposites really attract?

My 41 year old friend comes from a history of allot of childhood ual abuse and as a teen was very promiscuous. Her first child she still doesn't know who the father is. As a adult she still hasn't worked on her issues of PTS and still has allot of disfunction behaviors. Lately she left her husband of 9 years to be with another man. The new man is a licensed psychologist she met through work. My concern is this guy taking advantage of a vulnerable adult? I'm her friend and cannot see this relationship going very far, but she thinks it may lead to marriage. Forgive me for saying this but every other man in her life that met her children ran for the hills...
