How much do accents effect you?

Just out of curiousity, how much do the ladies love an accent? I mean I see all the time how European guys get women here in the states loving it. Is it just because it's more exotic to them and not heard as much? And also is it the same way say if I was to go to Europe? Would the women there notice my American accent and like it or is that just something they don't care about?
