Dog owners afraid for their dogs because of your dog?

I find that many small-dog owners tend to coddle their dogs a bit and the picking them up when they p a large dog (like my 70 pound malamute) seems to be part of this. It annoys me slightly but I try not to let it bother me because I know my dog is well-socialized and harmless and if they want to baby their dog, their only hurting themselves in the long run by not teaching or letting their dog socialize with other dogs.
