Is it possible to make flat and chewy sugar free chocolate chip cookies?

I would like to make flat and chewy chocolate chip cookies using sugar free chocolate chips, Splenda, and Splenda brown sugar blend . I followed the recipe on the Hershey's sugar free chocolate chips, but they turned out thick and cake-like. I know that a ratio of more brown sugar to white sugar is how to do it with real sugar, but I'm not sure how the Splenda sweetener works when baking. Thanks for your help!
